lunar new year

Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is celebrated throughout East Asian and South-East Asian cultures and is an important celebration within my family. Each year, since 2019, I have created an illustration for the new celestial animal of the year. Along with the animal, I include the lucky colours of red and gold, using gold gansai, wishing wealth and prosperity to others and cloud and mist motifs inspired by traditional paintings.
