The witch and the familiar are two sides of the same coin. They live in duality and follow each other through life, unable to shake the other.
The use of mixed media enhances the compositional elements in each image. The fine lines of the soft ground etching become more prominent isolated in the foreground while the celestial-inspired silhouette and the velvet black of the gouache hint at the supernatural bond between the pair.
