The figure struggles to find their breath and the words to speak, obstructed by a veil that wraps around their face. Imagined, within the mind, or physical, from external pressures?
Using touche in a watered-down consistency produces the elephant skin texture of the veil. The technique allows for the figure to be drawn first and the veil is layered on top, physically obscuring the face.
